Is there an entrance fee to join the club?
No, currently the club does not have a joining fee but this varies from year to year.
What is the difference between Full and Limited Membership?
A full member can play at any time on any of our courses except during opposite sex competitions.
A Limited member can play at any time Monday to Friday except during opposite sex competitions.
Is there a discount for a husband & wife/partner joining together?
Yes, we offer a discount which applies to the wife's fees.
How do I join the Club and do I need to be nominated?
All applications for membership require a Proposer and Seconder who are Full or Life members of the club.
As the club recognises that this may not always be possible, the secretary/manager will organise a proposer and seconder for these occasions.
When are the fees paid?
Membership fees are billed annually in August for payment by 30 September. For those not wishing to pay annually, a direct debit payment scheme is available for members wishing to pay six monthly or monthly. A 7.5% will apply to those opting for the direct debit instalments to cover bank charges, administration costs and additional interest paid by the club.
If I will be away from Townsville for an extended period, or suffering ill-health, what are my options?
There is a leave of absence category available to those members who want to put their playing rights on hold. Leave of absences are to be approved by the management committee and if granted, an annual fee is payable that gives the member the right to return to a playing category at any time in the future.
Can a member still play golf while on leave of absence?
Members are not eligible to play golf while on leave of absence.
If a member resigns from the Club but wants to rejoin later, are the member's previous years of service recognised for a discount on Senior membership?
No, to be eligible for the Senior discount, a member must have continuous service.
