The Townsville Veteran’s Club (“Vets”) is an arm of the golf club designated for women players 50+ years of age and 55+ years for men.  Membership is open to financial members of the Townsville Golf Club.

Golfers meet every Monday morning for a 9-hole competition and the emphasis is fun and lots of it.  Morning tea is supplied after golf and almost all of the field stays behind to enjoy each other’s company.

Apart from regular competitions, the Vets hold a Vets Championship, a Vets Open Championship, and play in a Shield Day against other clubs in the district.  The Vets are proud to have won the shield on many occasions.

As well, the Vets hold a large break-up function at the end of the year to present and acknowledge winners throughout the year.

Fundraising is done within the club via raffles and the Vets have initiated many projects within the club.

Many of the Vets volunteer tirelessly which helps the club present the golf course in tip-top shape.  They also assist with projects to enhance the club’s facilities.

The Vets are renowned as being the most friendly and sociable bunch in the club and always welcome visiting Vets from around the World.
